Hatha Yoga practice
is a non-competitive form of exercise designed to stretch, tone and strengthen
the body. This breath-led practice
of Modern Postural Yoga, develops your breath work and helps focus the mind,
keeping it free from distractions and enhances concentration.
Fitness Training - It is great for attaining and maintaining core strength, or helping
you gently get back into shape.
Practicing Yoga prevents lower back pain associated with poor core
strength. As a weight bearing
exercise, it also helps maintain bone density. It also improves your self-esteem as you come to have a positive relationship with your body. Practicing Yoga is about becoming better friends with yourself, so that you can be better friends with everyone else in the World.
Health benefits - Yoga improves
circulation, lymph drainage and thereby supports the immune system, by
assisting the body with cleansing. We learn that what you put into your body is key aspect to being in right relationship with yourself.
Stress Relief - through learning relaxation techniques and pranayama (breath
control) you can limit the effects of stress in your life. In Yoga the breath is a bridge between the coarse physical body and the more subtle energies in the body and the mind. You learn deep breathing techniques which enhance the quality and and efficiency of your breathing, this increases oxygen levels which strengthen the immune system, great for the winter. When our breath is smooth, gentle and control we can harness the kite like mind and bring it gently under control. In this way you begin to feel in control of your being and not so reactive to the winds of change in life.
